Topic 1 summary

In poland, there is a large increase in the number of farm factory and one of them is pig factory. Smithfield slaughters 1.2 million hogs a year in Poland and 35-40% of their pork produce is exported. this large number if pigs kill although will bring economy growth to Poland, however, there is other effectx too. The waste of the pigs is a big problem to poland, as it harms people health and also destroying natural environment, as slurry lagoons emit toxic gases such as ammonia and hydrogen sulphide which, in high concentrations, can cause headaches, eye irritations, mood alterations and fatigue. Although poland porks are cheap and in high quality, they actually had the hidden cost too, such as the handling of pig waste, the large land waste....

poland is a country is still blessed with rich biodiversity, clean air and water and if it only care about economy growth and less care about the environment, sooner or later, i think water and air pollution can be seen commonly in poland.

i think that having a farm factory in a area where people live near is not very appropriate, maybe they can chose a island where most farming does there, this will reduce the pollution and still, people health remain healthy!
